Enrolment Policy

The following information has been extracted from our policy manual.

CCS ENROLLMENT POLICY

When parents/guardians enroll their children at Community Christian School, they agree to actively support the
following statements which serve to enable CCS to provide a sound academic education integrated with the
basic principles of the Christian faith.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARENTS AND GUARDIANS
1. Parents* who enroll their children are members of the Society for Christian Instruction at Drayton and
Vicinity and continue to support the CCS Membership Policy. The Board may allow children to be enrolled
when only one of the parents is a member of the Society.
2. The parents are committed to maintaining a Christian home and high moral and spiritual standards. Children
are taught to respect authority and their peers.
3. They earnestly desire an education for their children that is Christ-centered.
4. They agree to uphold the CCS community and their children in prayer.
5. The parents have read and support the programs and policies as outlined in the Parents’ Handbook. The
parents support decisions made by the Board.
6. Parents are obedient to local, provincial, and national law.
7. They participate in the education of their children by accepting positions on the Board and other committees
and by volunteering to help out at the school as needed.
8. The parents stay informed and get involved by attending meetings, especially the Fall and Spring
Membership Meetings.
9. If difficulties or problems arise, the parents work through the proper communication network to try to find
solutions.
10. The parents support the discipline policy of the school (see Parent Handbook) and acknowledge that their
children are to follow the rules. They understand that if the child’s presence impedes the process of Christian
education, he/she may be expelled.
11. Parents must enroll all their school-aged children, unless there are special circumstances which justify
exemption.
12. They must allow full participation in school programs, unless there are special circumstances which justify
exemption.
13. Parents must be committed to fulfilling their financial obligations.
14. They will support the final decision made by the principal to place the student in a specific grade or
program.
15. All immunization records as required by the Health Department must be completed.
16. All necessary forms must be filled out and returned to the school.
17. The parents will encourage their children to cooperate at school and to do his/her best work.
18. Parents may enroll students who are at least five years old on or before December 31st.
19. Parents transferring from another OACS school, may be enrolled upon consultation with the principal of
the previous school.
20. No child may be denied enrollment on the grounds of ethnicity, gender, race, colour, or national origin.
21. Parents understand that if they or their children fail to follow the standards as articulated in the CCS

Membership Policy, the CCS Enrollment Policy, or the Parent Handbook that their membership and/or
enrollment applications will be reviewed by the Board. The Board has the right to terminate membership and
student enrollment.

*The term “parents” includes guardians and the home where the student is living.
